about

Originally “Fat Bankers” was recorded in 1999. It is a set of studio mixes of tracks that were planned for X-Amount’s appearance at the Glastonbury Festival that year. For the craziest of reasons the Glastonbury gig never happened, but the set remains. When X-Amount played live Andi would program and alter drum sounds live whilst Simon improvised live dub effects over the top.

For the album the instrumentation was pre-programmed, but the live dub improvisation is still present. The album contains some of X-Amount’s best early material; “Jugala” (based on Indonesian Gamalan rhythms and melodies) and “Sine” with the bassline that Andi wrote after getting the idea from the engine noise of a London bus.

The album has been remastered from the original recordings, and 2 bonus tracks have been added, plus additional artwork that you get with the full album download.
